Tuesday, November  2, 2021

On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Texas will hold a statewide constitutional referendum election. Every registered voter in the state is eligible to vote. Some municipalities — including city councils, utility districts, and school boards — will also hold nonpartisan elections that day.

Texas House District 118 (HD-118) will also be having a partisan special election to replace the outgoing Democrat from the district. The Democratic candidate is Frank Ramirez.

Special Voting Procedure for the HD-118 Runoff

If you are a voter in House District 118 (check here: txdem.co/myrep), be sure to vote at a polling place located in House District 118 (click here for a list of polling places). When you arrive, check in at the table for the HD-118 election and be sure to vote at a machine with an orange tablecloth. After you’ve finished voting there, check in again at a separate table to vote in the Constitutional election.

FAQ

I went to my polling place and they told me I’m not eligible to vote in the election.

It’s possible that that the Constitutional Election is the only election that you’re eligible to vote in.

This could be because:

  • Your municipality holds its elections another time
  • No one is up for election in your district (e.g., Districts 2 and 4 may be on the ballot this year and Districts 1 and 3 next municipal election)

If you’d like to confirm or think you were told you’re not eligible for other reasons, please contact 844-TX-VOTES for additional help.

Where can I vote?

Use our polling place lookup tool above to find your closest polling place! (It will be available right around the start of early voting.) We recommend finding a place to vote a day or two before you plan to go. Polling place information may not be published until closer to the election.

Please call 844-TX-VOTES if you need help finding where to go vote.
